Dehydrated skin

Skincare for dehydrated skin

Dehydrated skin is a skin condition where the skin lacks moisture. It can feel tight, dull, uneven, or less supple, and develop fine lines that become more prominent when the skin is moisture-deficient.

All skin types can become dehydrated – even oily and combination skin. The skin can therefore feel tight while also becoming shiny during the day. The right skincare should provide moisture, support the skin barrier, and be adapted to the skin's basic type.

What is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?

  • Dry skin is a skin type that usually produces less sebum and therefore often needs both moisture and emollient lipids.
  • Dehydrated skin is a temporary or recurring skin condition where the skin lacks water. Even oily, normal, and combination skin can be dehydrated.

If the skin is both dry and dehydrated, hydrating serums are usually needed along with a more nourishing face cream. Oily or combination dehydrated skin, on the other hand, may need lighter products that provide moisture without an overly rich feel.

Common signs of dehydrated skin

  • Skin feels tight after cleansing
  • Fine dehydration lines become more visible
  • Skin looks dull or tired
  • Skin surface feels uneven or less supple
  • Makeup applies unevenly or emphasizes fine lines
  • Skin becomes shiny but still feels tight
  • Skin reacts more easily to active skincare products

Hydrating ingredients for moisture-deficient skin

Skincare for dehydrated skin can contain humectant ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, betaine, trehalose, panthenol, aloe vera, and urea. Ceramides, squalane, and nourishing lipids simultaneously help the skin retain moisture and feel more comfortable.

The most important thing is not to use as many products as possible, but to combine gentle cleansing, a humectant serum, and a face cream suitable for the skin's basic type.

Choose products according to your skin's needs

For all skin types with moisture deficiency

Yellow Rose Hyaluronic Serum is a light serum with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramides, and peptides. It is suitable when the skin needs more moisture, suppleness, and comfort without a heavy feel.

Follow with Hyaluronic Face Cream to complete the routine and help the skin retain its hydrated feeling.

For dehydrated and sensitive skin

Sensitive Skin Care Face Serum and Sensitive Skin Care Face Cream are suitable for skin that simultaneously feels moisture-deficient, tight, sensitive, or temporarily stressed.

The series contains prebiotics, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, panthenol, and other nourishing ingredients that contribute to more moisture and skin comfort.

For mature, dehydrated, and less elastic skin

Collagen2 Beauty Elixir can be combined with Collagen2 Face Cream when the skin needs both hydration, softness, and a more elastic feel.

Face mask and mist for extra moisture needs

Hyaluronic Face Gel Mask can be used 1–3 times a week when the skin needs a more intense moisture boost.

Hyaluronic Face Mist can be used on cleansed skin, between skincare steps, or over makeup when the skin feels dry or tight during the day.

Skincare routine for dehydrated skin

  1. Cleanse skin with a mild cleansing product that doesn't leave skin feeling tight.
  2. Apply an alcohol-free and hydrating toner.
  3. Use a humectant serum with, for example, hyaluronic acid.
  4. Follow with a face cream adapted to whether the skin is oily, normal, dry, or sensitive.
  5. Use a hydrating face mask 1–3 times a week.
  6. Finish the morning routine with sunscreen.

Avoid over-treating moisture-deficient skin

If the skin feels tight, irritated, or unusually sensitive, it may be a good idea to temporarily reduce the use of strong acids, retinoids, and mechanical scrubs. Instead, focus on gentle cleansing, hydration, and barrier support until the skin feels more balanced.
